Developmental edits are returned using Track Changes in Word. Suggestions are made using comments and inline. A concluding memo summarizing the issues and areas for revision make the process simple and clear.
What About Line and Copy Edits?
We assess the author's voice and make recommendations to improve readability (line editing) as part of our developmental process. Copyediting (and copy editing) is a separate, last stage technical edit.
